If you spend any time on Instagram or Facebook, you’ve likely seen ads for Rothys shoes. Or maybe you’re like me and you first got introduced to them when you noticed a friend wearing them. Either way, they have become very popular and with good reason! I bought a pair last year but have been a bit lazy about reviewing them, bad blogger that I am sometimes. Oops! Sometimes I feel like my procrastination is beneficial because I’ve now had the chance to wear these shoes a bunch and can provide oodles of details about them. Read on for my Rothy’s review of the Point flats in size US11.5!

Fit
I love love love that Rothy’s offers up to a size US13! So many brands stop at size 10 or 11 which is seriously heartbreaking for us tall ladies, am I right? One of the first things I did before buying from Rothy’s was to read some blog reviews about the fit. Many ladies recommend sizing up, especially in The Point.
My true size is 11.5 but I usually cram my feet into an 11 since finding size 11.5 is basically as easy as finding a unicorn sitting in a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. I ordered a size 12 in both the Point style and the rounded toe style which Rothy’s simply calls “The Flat”. The size 12s were just a smidge too big and I was concerned that I might get blisters if they slipped on and off my heel. So back they went for size 11.5 and those worked great. They’re a smidge snug but not uncomfortably so and I’d rather have snug but comfy shoes than loose but comfy shoes that rub on my heels.
Here are some pics of both the rounded toe flats (which I didn’t keep because I didn’t think they looked very flattering on my feet) and the Point just for comparison.
No…I didn’t get dressed in the dark for this pic. Hah! Just wanted to show a good comparison of the two styles.

The Point in size US12 before I returned it for an 11.5.

The Flat style in size 12. They felt frumpy to me so I didn’t keep them.

The Point style felt much more chic to me. Here they are after 15 months of wear.
Comfort (And Style)
One of the main selling points for me about The Point flat is that it’s comfortable AND stylish. As someone who has walked miles upon miles around European cities during my travels, this is EXACTLY what I look for in a shoe but it can sometimes be hard to find a shoe that marries both comfort and style. They are the kind of shoe that you look forward to throwing on and wearing all day.
But don’t take my word for it…here’s what Rothys has to say on the topic of comfort. “Just because they’re made out of water bottles doesn’t mean it feels like it. Rothy’s have an innovative, seamless construction that provides absolute comfort when you’re walking around—which means no stiff seams or uncomfortable edges to chafe or scrape. Our signature thread makes each shoe soft and flexible, so they effortlessly move with you.”
Versatility
A shoe that looks just as good with a cute dress or skirt as they do with jeans or pants!?! Ummm…yes please! The nice thing is you can throw on the Rothys Point and easily wear them all day whether you’re out running errands, going to the office, chasing after your kids, out for a meal with friends or on a shopping spree. Also, since they machine washable, they can get drenched in a rainstorm and be totally fine. I chose the Cloud Grey Birdseye color because I wanted a versatile neutral but if I get another pair, I’ll go for one of the bolder colors or prints!
Here are a few ways I’ve worn my Rothys out and about:

Sustainability
Have you ever wanted to wear plastic water bottles as shoes? I know that sounds weird but when you wear a pair of Rothys, that’s basically what you’re doing. Their shoes are made out of recycled plastic water bottles that are then made into fiber which is knit into yarn to make the shoes. The result is a material with a cool texture and appearance as well as shoes that can get wet. Rothys has so far transformed 100 million single-use plastic water bottles into its signature thread and in so doing have kept 100 tons of plastic from ending up in waterways. You can read more about Rothys sustainability practices and ideas here.
Any Downsides?
I do notice that my feet get a bit sweaty if I’m wearing the Rothys flats when its warm out. I’ve seen complaints about the shoes becoming stinky and I have experienced this on occasion with mine but also just noticed that Rothys has ideas for helping to combat this. I’ll definitely be trying these ideas!
How About Washing Them?
I finally got around to throwing them in the washer yesterday and all went well! After reading the instructions on the Rothys website, I literally just threw them in there like I would any other item. Very convenient and easy!
Here’s a few more looks at my Rothys and hopefully you found this Rothys review of my size 11.5 flats helpful!

Hi,
Thank you for the review. I was wondering how well the pointed toe wore? I love pointed flats, but I notice that I must drag my feet or something because I find that all of my pointed flats start to wear at the pointed toe. I have a pair of cheaper silicate flats made of recycled material and the toe is starting to fray. Any help would be great!
Thank you
Hi Emily! I totally know what you mean about the toe getting worn out in pointed toe flats. This has definitely happened with some of my other pointed toe flats BUT I’ve had my this pair of Rothys Point flats for 2 years and just thoroughly examined the toe and it looks great. Not sure if you follow me on Instagram, but I posted a pic I took today of the shoes in my stories. I’ll save it in the Rothys highlight too. Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions.
