Thoughtful Shopping Switzerland Edition – Pink Maharani and I Love Tall

When my friend Karen from Tall Wife invited me on an impromptu girls’ trip to Switzerland in November, I enthusiastically accepted the invitation. I envisioned a weekend full of fondue, shopping, exploring and girl talk and I wasn’t disappointed. In the shopping department, I scored a couple of tall tops and a magnificently soft cashmere shawl from Pink Maharani. Wait until you hear the story behind how it was made! Both Karen and I hopped on the train from our respective homes and met in Zurich. You may remember that I had been to Zurich in 2015 and had had a nice […]

Cold Weather Favorites and Life Lately

As you can see, my late summer break that I took in September turned into a full blown blogging sabbatical. Oops! I’ve had a bit of difficulty getting back into the swing of blogging the past couple of months for a few reasons and decided I’d quickly catch you up on what’s been going down and what I’ve been thinking. Buckle your seatbelt since this is a bit long. First, I just feel like such a busy bee between my part-time job, my volunteer work, my German lessons, managing our household, traveling and maintaining some semblance of a social life. I’m […]

Thoughtful Shopping Update – Thrifting, 30 Wears and Favorite Pieces So Far

I’m way overdue for an update on my Thoughtful Shopping Series! The truth is I’ve been heavy on the “thoughtful” part and light on the shopping which I’m perfectly fine with. One of the shifts I’m noticing in my buying habits is that I’m slow as molasses in buying things now because I ponder my purchases for quite awhile.  If I do buy something, it’s usually because I really love the item, know it’ll fill a void in my closet and know I’ll wear it a ton. I can’t remember the last time I bought something impulsively. Since I haven’t been shopping much, I’m […]

Talltique Bomber Jacket – Tall Fashion at its Best!

I’ve been LONGING for two things lately: 1) a fabulous tall leather bomber jacket 2) the sun/warmer weather My first wish was fulfilled a couple of weeks ago when Talltique’s beautiful faux leather bomber jacket arrived in my mailbox.  The second wish was fulfilled this weekend when Mr. Sun and his cousin Bright Blue Skies both made a rare appearance during our little trip to Strasbourg, France.  Even though temps were in the 40s, I excitedly threw on my new Talltique bomber jacket and was in HEAVEN to not be wearing my winter coat for the day. This is the […]

Ready for Spring! Vibrant Blue Long Tall Sally Tunic

Who is ready for spring?  Raise your hand!  Me me me…I am!!  It has been grey grey grey gloomy rainy snowy and more grey here, and I am in dire need of all things BRIGHT to cheer me up.    When Long Tall Sally sent me the two pocket tunic from its new spring collection to try, the vibrant blue color of the blouse immediately perked me up.  You know a color is eye catching when you send your sister-in-law the below photo with only a hint of the sleeve and hem showing and she says “I like that blue. […]

Holiday Outfits and Eats – NYC Trip

Mr. L3 and I just returned from a splendid trip to NYC and one of the highlights was DEFINITELY the food!  Here is a little tour of my “out-to-dinner” outfits. First Night Out – Dinner at Mas Farmhouse in Greenwich Village I kept it “dressy casual” for our first night out and wore my 382 Long Sleeve Blouse in Delilah from Tall Couture (reviewed here), my Ann Taylor (non-tall) skinny pants (more info here) and my waterproof suede Aquatalia boots. I would have preferred to wear heels instead of flat boots but navigating through hoards of people on uneven streets in […]
