One of the main reasons I enjoy blogging is because I have so much fun discovering new tall brands and then introducing them to all of you. I think it is so important to support our fellow tall ladies who have taken a chance on starting tall fashion companies so that we can have easy access to well-fitting and stylish clothing. Today, I am thrilled to introduce you to tall fashion newcomer JuNi Fashion located in Frankfurt, Germany which launched in early 2017.
It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of day trips and I love them even more if they involve tall shopping, so yesterday I hopped on a train to Frankfurt to check out a bit more of the city (but mostly to see what JuNi Fashion had to offer). As I was slowly walking down Frankfurt’s Brückenstraße peeking curiously in the windows of the hip independent shops, I heard a friendly voice call my name from down the street. Jurgita, one of the owners of JuNi Fashion, welcomed me into the shop and began showing me around. I also met the other owner Nicole and if you’re wondering why the store is named JuNi, it comes from the first 2 letters of both of their names. Creative, huh? Both Nicole and Jurgita were so hospitable and helpful during my visit, and I spent an enjoyable 3 hours in the store chatting with them, trying on a ton of clothing (including my first jumpsuit!) and even enjoying some goodies that they bought at a nearby Portuguese store.
Most tall women do not have the luxury of living in a city with a tall shop so being able to visit one is usually a wonderful and exciting experience in and of itself. What makes it even more special is when you can tell that the shop owners have put a lot of thought into the design and layout of the store. Upon walking into the shop, I was immediately smitten with the colorful rugs, the inviting corner with 2 comfy chairs (perfect for non-tall friends or menfolk to lounge while you’re trying stuff on) and the fun artwork on the walls. It’s a nice feeling to walk into a tall store and find that it looks just as chic and cool as the rest of the “non-tall” stores on the street.
The clothing in the store is very well organized and nicely displayed so that it doesn’t overwhelm your senses. You can take it all in slowly while you peruse the fabulous tall clothing options you have to choose from. I was particularly impressed with the selection of career wear and dressier items. Pictured below is only some of the career wear…the clothing rack just keeps going! Definitely a dream for tall career women!
Jurgita and Nicole both have prior experience in the fashion industry. They researched and planned for around a year before officially opening JuNi Fashion in February 2017. They are thoughtful and selective regarding which brands they carry and this of course makes me happy since it falls right in line with my Thoughtful Shopping emphasis. They reached out to clothing companies that they were already familiar with to see if these brands would be willing to supply them with tall-sized clothing. The result is very high quality clothing almost all of which is made in Europe from brands such as Evelin Brandt Berlin, ONLY-M, Eterna, BlueFire, HIS, KjBrand, Modee, Rofa, We Love XOX and more.
My photos by no means do justice to the great selection that JuNi has to offer since I spent the bulk of my time trying on clothing rather than taking photos (oops!), but you can see JuNi’s full selection of items and keep up with new arrivals on its Instagram and Facebook pages. For those who are able to visit in person (which I highly recommend), you get a 10% discount on your first visit. If you’re not able to visit in person, keep an eye out for the launch of the online shop in the next few months.
JuNi Fashion also carries made-in-Italy shoes up to size EU-45! Don’t you just love the colors?
One of the things I really appreciated was the selection of basics that JuNi offered. Basic tanks, tees and pullovers in the right length can be hard to find! I forgot to take a photo of the “basics” clothing rack but you can get a good idea of what JuNi offers from this photo on JuNi’s Facebook page and this photo shows the range of colors on offer.
Speaking of basics, you’re probably wondering what I bought. I VERY badly needed a navy blue layering tank top since the one I’ve been wearing is on its last leg. Not only did I find a great navy tank but also a matching cardigan to go with it, both from the German brand Modee. I love that the tank has a flattering scoop neck/back, thin straps and a longline fit. That’s exactly what I want in a layering tank.
I also came home with two pullovers – one with lively broad stripes (because I’m basically obsessed with stripes and can’t resist them) and one with a flattering a v-neck in a lovely plum color. As soon as I got home, I started playing dress up with my new items and can’t wait to show you some outfits soon! (The plum pullover was kindly gifted to me from the JuNi Fashion ladies and the other 3 items I bought with my own pennies).
My mom will be visiting me in October and I am already planning to take her to JuNi for some tall shopping! If you’re curious about more tall shops in Germany, check out the shopping list and custom map I created here.
