MARGE fills a unique void in the tall fashion world with its focus on luxurious, sophisticated apparel and ethical fashion. Since I am on the prowl for well-made investment pieces this year, I find MARGE’s vision to be quite refreshing and impressive. Keep an eye out for an in-depth behind-the-scenes look at MARGE’s production and sourcing in the near future. In the meantime, here’s a quick snapshot as to why/how MARGE fits into my Thoughtful Shopping Series.
Who makes the clothing and where is it made? Seamstresses make the clothing in the San Francisco area, and the MARGE team oversees the production on a daily basis.
How is the fabric sourced? All of the high-quality fabrics are ethically sourced from either the U.S. or Europe.
Now back to the ANNI blouse itself! It’s no secret that blue is my favorite color AND that I love polka dots so this blouse was totally
screaming calling my name. MARGE promises a superb fit tailored specifically for tall frames. The moment I put on this size 6 blouse, I felt like it was tailor made for my long arms, torso and overall figure. What a treat!
Over the last few years, I’ve come to appreciate the versatility of button-up blouses. As you can imagine, this beautiful blouse looks amazing with dressy pants, a skirt or even layered over a dress, but I decided to go with a more casual look the first time I wore it. With the sleeves rolled up, the shirt tied at the waist, and paired with a white tank, jeans and sandals, I felt absolutely at ease while frolicking in a lovely Nuremberg park during my girls’ weekend with Karen from Tall Wife (who just so happened to take these fab pics of me).
As if the blue dotted silk fabric isn’t eye-catching and luxurious enough, the collar, button placket, cuffs and hem feature a beautiful silk charemuese. I foresee myself getting many years of wear out of this blouse and, if you follow me on Instagram, you know that I already had a chance to wear it on a recent trip to Italy.
P.S. Karen and I are teaming up with MARGE Clothing to bring you a very special treat so stay tuned to both of our blogs and social media accounts in the next few days to get all of the details. And be sure to check out Karen’s review of the gorgeous Jorgine dress from MARGE here.
Do you find button-up blouses to be a versatile option for your wardrobe? What is your favorite way to wear them? Do you own any silk pieces? This is my first and I’m very excited about it!
