Hello there! I’m so thrilled you’ve stopped by to check out my new website – Tall Fashion Adventures. Holy guacamole! I didn’t realize how much work it would be to transfer my Long.Leggy.Lovin’ It blog from Blogger to WordPress AND completely design a new website. I now see why bloggers pay professionals to do this for them! But I felt like I needed a good challenge in my life, and I have learned (and am still learning) many new things throughout this process.
The blog is a bit of a “beautiful mess” at the moment since I’m still working on some nitty gritty formatting issues with the blog posts that I brought over from LongLeggy.com. The thing is, I’m dying to start writing again and I miss chatting with all of you which is why I decided it was time for the blog to go live even if bits of it are still a bit wonky. Speaking of the blog going live, check out my first write-up where I dish about my fabulous Long Tall Sally button-up maxi dress!
Now that you’re here, I’d love to point out some of the fun features of my new website.
Colors – Have you noticed that I’m using 3 out of 4 of my Project Remix colors for the blog? Navy blue, orange and grey is one of favorite combos, and I figured it would be the perfect color scheme for my new website.
Navigating/Searching – In the menus at the very top and under the Categories section in the right hand sidebar, you’ll find links to all kinds of goodies like my tall shopping challenges, tall clothing and shoe reviews, info on where to shop, tall shopping road trips, random rants and musings on all things tall, a list of other tall blogs etc. If you’re wondering if I’ve written about a particular topic but don’t see it in the categories or menus, you can click on the orange looking glass icon in the upper right hand corner to search the blog. The search feature is lightyears more robust than my old blog. I’ve tried searching for all sorts of random keywords on my new website and always find what I’m looking for.
Instagram – For those of you who aren’t on Instagram, you can now get a peek at what’s going on over there thanks to the photos in the sidebar and at the bottom of the site.
Template – In case you’re wondering, I am using the Florence template by Solo Pine. If you’re ever thinking about installing a new template on your blog (or possibly starting a blog from scratch), Solo Pine has fantastic customer service along with their beautiful templates.
The blog will hopefully get better and better as I continue to work on it, but I’m very excited with my new blogging home and hope you are too!
In case you’re interested, here’s a little Q&A to fill you in on my blog makeover.
Why the name change from Long.Leggy.Lovin’ It to Tall Fashion Adventures?
I’m glad you asked! I started Long.Leggy.Lovin’ It 5+ years ago on a whim. I didn’t give much thought to the name or which platform to blog on – I just started blogging. I’ve been wanting to give my blog a makeover for awhile, and I figured why not also give it a shiny new name that describes my tall fashion journey over the years. I truly feel like the past 5 years have been one ginormous tall fashion adventure (and at times misadventure) hence the new name. Plus, my wanderlusty self just likes adventures in general so there ya go. Hooray for adventures of all kinds! P.S. Shoutout to Annett of Tall Girl’s Fashion for brainstorming blog names with me.
What about the content? Will it be a lot different?
Nope. All of the articles from LongLeggy.com will be available on the new site and the content and topics of the blog will stay the same – my tall shopping challenges, highlighting tall shops and bloggers, musings on life in the tall lane etc. I may write a teensy bit about my traveling adventures from time to time, but you can always tune those posts out if you don’t like such topics.
