I’ll never forget the first Long Tall Sally pop-up shop that I went to
with my sister back in 2011. It was such a fun, exhilarating experience to browse all of the tall styles surrounded by several other fabulous tall women. Even though I don’t live near her anymore, my 5’11 sister has continued to shop at the pop-ups and this year, she took my lovely 5’11 mom with her. I wanted to be there shopping with them so badly!!! Now that I’m done whining, I’ll show you their favorite buys.
My sister scored this gorgeous coral lace dress and when I saw it, I had a momentary fit of jealousy. I had flashbacks to when I was a bratty little kid and my grandparents gave me a small gift on my sister’s birthday so that I wouldn’t pitch a fit about all the presents she received. For the record, she also received a small gift on my birthday so my brattiness benefited her too. I also had flashbacks to when I used to be able to share clothes with my sis. Ahhhh…those were the days! If I lived near her, I’d definitely be stealing borrowing this dress because I adore the color, the lace, the box pleats. I also that my sister is rockin’ some serious wedge heels.
Here’s her take on the dress: “I love my new dress! It’s classic and versatile and it won’t go out of style. I can wear it with flats, sandals, boots, or wedges. I love the lacy detail and the fabulous coral color. I’m 5’11” and 175 lbs. and wearing a size 8. It is a tad snug in the waist but not uncomfortable. The size 10 was too big. I can wear it to church, weddings, and our upcoming anniversary dinner. The quality of the dress is great.” Wow! Sounds like an incredibly versatile dress!
My lovely mom was able to beef up her collection of work pants by purchasing the 37″ inseam Allegro Pull-On Pants in the charcoal color. I think she’s looking pretty smart in them, don’t you?
Here’s what she has to say about them “These pants are incredibly comfortable. It’s hard to believe that they are elasticized because they lay flat and don’t bunch. I’m probably going to buy some other colors because they look so nice for work but are comfortable as I said.” Apparently, my mom isn’t the only one loving these pants since they have 4.5/5 stars from 75 reviews!
Mom also scooped up the 36″ cotton tapered trousers in stone. Here’s her take on these pants “These pants come with a skinny belt and also are very comfortable. They fit nice in the hips.” LTS describes these pants as a chic alternative to jeans and recommends rolling them up a bit and pairing them with ballet flats and a tee for a fresh, casual look. Again, judging by the reviews on the LTS site, these pants seem pretty popular and Mom looks super cute in them if I do say so myself.
I love this last photo! My mom and my sis are my two best friends (besides Mr. L3 of course), and I miss them on a daily basis.
I think it’s fantastic that Long Tall Sally has styles that work for such a wide range of ages. Hopefully, LTS will be back soon with another round of pop-ups. In case you haven’t heard, the next LTS store will open in Chicago in summer 2015. That’s awesome news but how about giving some love to the West Coast, LTS?!? And maybe a few more stores in Europe pretty please?!
Have you ever been to an LTS pop-up? How was your experience? Did you stock up on more practical items or splurge on some unique pieces?
