Project Remix Update, Neutral Accessories & Nude Hosiery!

Oops! I did it again!
I neglected my blog. Life got in the way
O baby.
OK…I don’t think I’ll be able to write this whole post set to a Britney Spears song so I’ll quit trying.  I’ve been in the throes of a complicated move and all the annoyances thrills that come with it like hiring movers, packing, renting out our current house etc. While I have most certainly NOT let all of these obligations get in the way of my shopping, I obviously have been very neglectful in sharing my purchases with y’all.
Here’s a little photo update.
First, I’ve really lucked out in finding some great neutral accessories lately (shoes, handbag, belts, necklace).
Cole Haan Air Monica Ballet Flats – Ridiculously comfortable, ridiculously versatile, ridiculously cute! They also come in a cheery red and black.  I wore my previous pair of neutral flats until they were positively ratty. I forced myself to throw them away so that I’d be forced to buy new ones but it took me forever to find a replacement. These were worth the wait!
Sperry TopSider Angelfish Boat Shoe – My befuddlement over what to wear when it rains during the warm spring and summer months SOLVED! Uber comfy Sperrys (with some gold glitter detailing)!  We’ve been having a fair amount of rain lately so I’ve already worn these several times.
J.Crew Brompton Straw Mini Hobo – I have been looking high and low for a straw-ish bag for spring and summer for well over a year and nabbed this one when J.Crew was having one of its 25% off sales.  I love the shape and size of this bag, and I can fit boatloads of stuff in it (which probably isn’t good for my back problems but oh well).  It has a removable crossbody strap with a buckle and several holes so we tall ladies can adjust it to the perfect length. I expect to be using this bag for many many moons (translation – years).

Loft Long Necklace, Donna Karan “The Nudes” Hosiery and Belts via Nordstrom and Ann Taylor

I need more necklaces to take my outfits to the next level. I’ve seriously worn this one from Loft every single week since I’ve bought it.  It’s currently 40% off.  Go buy it NOW!
Remember my shy legs hangup? Well it’s that time of year again where I need to bare my legs or else die of heatstroke wearing jeans.  In the below photo, I’m wearing a pair of the Donna Karan “The Nudes” hosiery in size tall.  Rumor has it these are similar to the ones Kate Middleton wears.  I also bought a “toeless” pair to wear with peep toe shoes.  How’s that for sneaky?!?  Unfortunately, these suckers are insanely fragile and expensive so I already ruined one of the pairs with a couple of runs after only one wear BUT they are so natural looking that Mr. L3 reached over to pat my leg the other day when I got home from work, gave me a puzzled look, tugged on my leg (or tugged on the hose really) and said “Humph…I was expecting actual leg”.
I nabbed an animal print belt from Ann Taylor for $10 and the blue belt from Nordstrom (on sale as well).

Tall Hosiery

Last time I wrote, this is where I was with my Project Remix list:
Skirts – 1 in navy or gray, 1 in orange or teal and 1 print skirt
Dresses – 1 print dress
Tops – 1 gray or navy top; 2 orange or teal solid tops; 2 orange or teal print tops
Completer Pieces2 Grey or Navy Blazers, cropped jackets etc., 1 teal or orange blazer, 1 teal or orange cardigan, and 1 denim jacket
Accessories – Belts, belts and more belts
Since then, I’ve bought a print dress, orange skirt, and orange blazer and have gotten TONS of wear out of all of them. Better photos to come later but for now you’ll have to bear with the following selfies:
Loft Herringbone Linen Collarless Jacket – OK..first of all RUN (don’t walk) to your computer and buy this jacket NOW while it’s 50% off.  This is my absolute favorite Project Remix buy so far.  I have gotten COUNTLESS compliments on it…even (non-creepy) compliments from a few male coworkers.  Here are some ways I’ve worn my size 8 Tall jacket lately but believe you me…it goes with almost EVERYTHING in my closet so I’ve been able to wear it a bajillion different ways.  The sleeves are plenty long, it has a nice ruffle hem in the back and the lack of buttons make it a little less formal than a traditional blazer. Plus, linen and bright colors are SO great for spring and summer.

Wore the outfit on the left to work and the outfit on the right for weekend frolicking.

I bought this fun tall wrap dress several weeks ago from Ann Taylor. Love it by itself or with a jacket. Very comfortable, perfect length and versatile.

And last but not least, I bought this orange skirt from Ann Taylor in the regular size. I saw it online awhile back in the tall size but I guess it’s sold out.  Fortunately, the regular size 10 fits me just great. I’m having REALLY good luck with Ann Taylor pencil skirts these days.  This is another item that you should NAB NOW while it’s 40% off the SALE price.  It has 5 out of 5 stars out of 37 reviews so it’s well loved by all. I love the color and texture of the fabric and have been able to wear the skirt with several different tops, jackets and shoes.

Well back to packing I go. BLAH.  I mean YAY!!

No prob! I always have to click "publish" before any comments show up on the blog and I was lagging today. I liked both of yours so I published both. 🙂 Glad you like the outfits. I'm becoming more of a flats girl in my old age. They're just so comfortable and easy to scoot around in.

Thanks! I've already gotten tons of wear out of all the nude stuff (that doesn't sound quite right does it) so I know they were good purchases. Now I'm checking out your blogs. 🙂
