Tall Printed Blouse

The Print Plunge – Tall Couture Review

As you may recall, my 4 month Shopping Tall Challenge is now in full swing and, so far, 4 out of the 5 items I’ve ordered fit me perfectly.  As I go back and forth between wearing my tall sized clothes and my non-tall clothes, I find myself getting REALLY frustrated and pouty with the fit of some of my non-tall clothes.  For example, I’m pretty sure the sleeves on both of these non-tall sweaters that I bought a year ago are meant to be full length. But on me…not so much.  Sigh.

Exasperated! Arg!
Unintentional 3/4 sleeves. Pout!

Enough of my poutiness…let’s move on to the happy topic of my fabulous new blouse from one of my all time favorite tall retailers – Tall Couture.  I’ve bought around 5 or 6 items from Tall Couture over the years from coats to jackets to tops and have loved every single piece (especially my favorite coat as seen on All The Tall Things).  Now that I have a new job, I need to beef up my blouse collection, and I’ve had my eye on the 382 Long Sleeve Blouse for awhile now.  I initially thought I might get the solid black or solid blue style, but realized that my wardrobe is seeming kind of snoozy lately with a lot of solids and stripes.  So, I decided to take the print plunge and buy this one! Boy am I glad I did!  I’m IN LOVE with it! The sleeves are the perfect length, the material feels really nice and even a little silky and cool on my arms so it’s like having my own personal AC unit built into my blouse. I love the flirty, slightly flared hemline, the overall flowyness of the garment, the 3 gold buttons and the overall length of the blouse which pretty much covers my bummy (as my 3 year old half-British niece would say to refer to her backside).  I’ve never been a huge fan of tie waist shirts.  You know how it is when you have a plain shirt with a tie waist…doesn’t it always bunch up and look awful and not lay right?
Maybe it’s just me but it drives me batty.  However,  this one hits me in exactly the right place AND has an elastic waistband that the tie lays over so the fabric doesn’t get bunchy. And since I know you’re dying to see another awkward fabulous self-portrait of me…here ya go.

I’m already plotting what my next purchase from Tall Couture will be since I seem to have really good luck with them.

    Hi –

Great looking tops especially the one from Tall Couture!

I'm not a fan of the unintentional 3/4 length sleeve.

Someone who was not tall and did not have long arms told me I should create a top for tall women with 3/4 length sleeves.

Once I peeled myself off the ceiling I explained why a tall woman probably wouldn't appreciate that as much as a top with long sleeves that were the proper length. 🙂

Thanks! I don't think I could bring myself to spend money on "intentional" 3/4 sleeves! I've also previously balked at the idea of buying tall short sleeved tops BUT now that I'm realizing how much better tall tops fit overall, I think I'd be amenable to trying some non long sleeve ones.

Two years ago, at the age of 31, I finally threw up my arms (uncomfortably clad in their unintentional 3/4 sleeves) and said "That's it…enough! NO MORE SHOPPING at regular girl shops!" I've broken my rule a few times in the summer when I can get by with skirts and sleeveless items, but I am so much happier finding and buying clothes made just for my Not average frame!

I'm so excited to hear of your love for Tall Couture. I contacted them a few months ago and said they are missing one thing from their site: Tall Maternity! I'm excited to say, they just placed their order with Mommy Long Legs and you will soon see us in their shop! I can't wait to shop their site after hearing your reviews!

PS. Do you follow Tallswag? Love her and her fashion tips too.

It's so inspiring to hear you say you pretty much only shop the tall lines for a few years. Now that I'm doing it, I don't think I want to go back to buying "regular" clothes!

That is SO exciting that Tall Couture is going to sell the Mommy Long Legs line! Almost makes me want to have a baby. Shhh…don't tell my mom/sister/family. They'll jump all over that and I'm only kidding. haha.

Yes! I love Alicia Jay from Tallswag. I talk to her on Twitter from time to time and ordered one of her fun T Swag shirts a little bit ago. She definitely does have some great tips on her blog and is so helpful if you ever ask her advice on stuff!

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
